Cabinet Painting in Colorado Springs — A Kitchen Transformation at a Fraction of the Cost
You don’t have to spend $20,000 on new cabinets to fall in love with your kitchen again. Professional cabinet painting delivers a genuinely like-new result — smooth, durable, and exactly the color you want — for a fraction of what replacement would cost. The key word is professional.
This isn’t a weekend DIY project with a brush and a can from the hardware store. Done right, it’s a transformation. Done wrong, you end up with brush marks, drips, and paint that chips the first time you bump it with a pot. J-Pro Painting has been doing cabinet painting in Colorado Springs since 2015. We know the process, we use the right materials, and we take the time to do it properly.
Why Cabinet Painting Instead of Replacing?
Full cabinet replacement typically runs $15,000–$35,000+ for a mid-size kitchen. Cabinet painting delivers comparable visual results for a dramatically lower investment — while keeping the cabinet boxes (which are usually structurally fine) in place.
If your cabinets are in good structural shape but the color or finish is dated, painting is the smart choice. If the boxes themselves are damaged or the layout isn’t working for you, replacement might make more sense. We’ll give you an honest assessment during the estimate.

Our Cabinet Painting Process
1. Removal
We remove all cabinet doors, drawer fronts, and hardware. Painting them in place is how you get drips, uneven coverage, and paint on your hinges. We don’t do it that way.
2. Cleaning & Degreasing
Kitchen cabinets accumulate grease, cooking residue, and years of grime. Every surface gets thoroughly cleaned before anything else happens — because paint won’t stick to a dirty surface.
3. Sanding
We sand every surface to create proper adhesion for the primer. This step is what separates a finish that lasts from one that chips in six months.
4. Priming
A quality bonding primer is applied to all surfaces. No shortcuts here — the primer is what makes the topcoat stick and prevents bleed-through.
5. Paint Application
Cabinet-specific paint applied in multiple thin coats for a smooth, durable finish. We spray where appropriate for the best result.
6. Reinstallation & Hardware
Doors and drawer fronts are reinstalled with clean hardware. We do a final inspection to make sure everything lines up and looks right.
